As a “K” Line group company, we are following “K” Line’s CSR and the attached Charter of Conduct. These regulations are supplemented by the QESS policy and quality management. Objectives and Mission of our CSR Activities:

The basic principles of the “K”LINE Group as a shipping business organization centering on shipping lie in:

1. Environment

Diligent efforts for safety in navigation and cargo operation as well as for environmental preservation.

2. Response

Sincere response to customer needs by making every possible effort.

Contributing to the world's economic growth and stability through continual upgrading of service quality.

Basic Policies in
promoting CSR activities

We recognize that the concept of CSR is composed of two areas, i.e. "Social Responsibility" and "Social Contribution". Our basic policies in promoting CSR activities in each respective area are as follows:

"Social Responsibility": We comply with all laws and regulations, respect social precepts, practice fair business activities, and make diligent efforts for safety in navigation and cargo operations as well as environmental preservation.

"Social Contribution": We contribute to society through our group business activities. And, as a "Good Corporate Citizen" we positively serve the community.

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. and it's group companies (hereinafter “K” Line Group) reemphasize that due respect for human rights and compliance with applicable laws, ordinances, rules are the fundamental foundations for corporate activities and that group companies' growth must be in harmony with society and therefore we herein declare to abide by "Charter of Conduct" spelled out below:

1. Human Rights

The “K” Line Group will consistently respect human rights and well consider personality, individuality and diversity of its corporate members and improve work safety and conditions to offer them comfort and affluence.

KESS Implementation Guideline for Charter of Conduct

The management seeks cooperation from its business counterparts. The management, from the viewpoint of risk management, sets up an internal system to prevent incidents in breach of this Charter and should such an event occur, the management of respective “K” Line Group member companies will demonstrate decisiveness to resolve a problem, conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause and take preventative measures. Additionally, such management will expeditiously and accurately release information and fulfill its accountability to society.

In various countries, tougher legislation is being enacted to promote fair competition. In response to regulations grounded in laws and ordinances that steadily become stricter year after year, we are required to strengthen our group company's compliance systems on a global level.
